Our Core Advantages

Written Estimates First

You receive a clear written assessment of findings and costs before any work begins. There are no charges applied without your prior agreement.

Dedicated Specialists

All work is performed by trained watchmakers within our own workshop. We do not pass watches to outside technicians without discussion.

Service Warranty Included

Service work is covered under a warranty period, explained clearly when your watch is returned. If an issue arises within the warranty period, we attend to it.

Originality Respected

For vintage and collectible pieces, we conserve original components where possible rather than automatically replacing them.

Timing Machine Verification

After service, movements are monitored on a calibrated timing machine across multiple positions to confirm rate stability before being cased up.

Unhurried Communication

We take time to explain our findings and answer questions. Owners are never rushed into a decision or made to feel their enquiry is unwelcome.

In more detail

What Each Benefit Means in Practice

Specialist Expertise

Watch repair covers a remarkable range of calibres, ages, and conditions. There is a significant difference between a technician who services a broad selection of small electronics and one who has spent years focused on mechanical movements. At Suriya Timeworks, our watchmakers have developed their skill across both modern Swiss and Japanese automatics and older vintage calibres that require an understanding of period parts and adjustment techniques that are no longer widely taught.

  • 15+ years of focused mechanical watch experience
  • Specialist knowledge of vintage Swiss and Japanese calibres
  • In-house work only — no unexplained third-party handling

Why It Matters

A movement that is adjusted by someone deeply familiar with its design and typical wear patterns is handled differently from one treated generically. The difference shows in the rate stability, the quality of lubrication placement, and the care taken around fragile components such as keyless works, setting levers, and pallet fork jewels.

Equipment & Methodology

Watchmaking lubricants have specific viscosities designed for particular components — a mainspring barrel grease is not appropriate on a pallet fork, and a thin pivot oil should not reach the keyless work. We use a defined set of professional lubricants applied to the right locations in appropriate quantities. Movements are tested on a timing machine after assembly, monitored in multiple positions, and only returned when the rate falls within acceptable range.

  • Calibrated digital timing equipment
  • Professional watchmaking lubricants used correctly
  • Multi-position rate verification before return

Practical Outcome

A watch returned from service should keep better time and feel more reliable over the following months and years. The timing machine gives a baseline reading that we note in the service record, which is useful as a reference for future services or if a rate concern arises within the warranty period.

Service Quality

Watch owners frequently arrive at a repair workshop without deep technical knowledge, which can make it difficult to assess whether a recommendation is genuine or inflated. We try to address this by providing written summaries that explain what was found and why a particular course of action is suggested. Owners are welcome to ask questions and take time before deciding. Nothing about this process should feel pressured.

  • Written inspection report for every watch received
  • No work begins without the owner's agreement
  • Updates provided if additional findings arise mid-repair

What Owners Tell Us

Most of our repeat clients mention the same thing: they appreciate knowing what is happening with their watch at each stage. A service is not just a technical transaction — the watch often has personal significance, and being treated accordingly makes a real difference to the experience.

Clear Pricing

Our service pricing is published and straightforward. A routine service starts from ฿4,400, a case and bracelet refinish from ฿8,200, and a vintage rebuild from ฿14,900. Within each service, the scope is defined and agreed before work proceeds. If additional work is identified — a worn mainspring, for example — the owner is contacted and the cost is discussed before anything is changed.

  • Transparent published starting prices
  • Additional costs discussed and approved before being added
  • Final cost matches what was agreed — no hidden additions

Long-term Value

A watch that is serviced properly on a regular cycle tends to avoid the more expensive repairs that come from extended neglect — worn pivots, degraded mainsprings, and seized keyless works. Viewing the service cost as part of ownership, rather than an unexpected expense, generally makes mechanical watch ownership more predictable and pleasant.

What sets us apart

Distinctive Features

Finish Agreed in Advance

For refinishing work, the desired result — whether brushed, polished, or a faithful mix of both — is discussed and confirmed before any surface is touched. We do not make assumptions about what an owner might prefer.

Honest Assessments

If a watch is in good condition and does not need a full service, we will say so. If a vintage piece has features that are best left unchanged to preserve its character, we will suggest this rather than recommend unnecessary work.

Service Records Maintained

We keep records of service dates, timing machine readings, and work performed for each watch we service. This provides a useful reference for future visits and is available to owners on request.

Guidance Without Pressure

We are glad to share recommendations about service intervals, storage, and general mechanical watch care — not to generate additional work, but because we think owners benefit from understanding what their watch needs over time.
